Evoke Canale worked with MBX Biosciences to create a great user experience and establish their brand for their new website. It had to be simple and clear but also convey important details about the process of peptide therapeutics for targeted therapies.

Background

MBX Biosciences, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company pioneering Precision Endocrine Peptide (PEP) therapeutics, came to us because they needed an updated website that tied into their technical process. They wanted a design and positioning to set them apart from other clinical stage companies.

Insight

After reviewing their positioning statement, we thought the natural approach of peptide therapeutics and targeted therapies show how they are unique and able to accommodate unmet medical needs, while communicating with their patient audience and investors.

Goals
  • MBX wanted to stand out as pioneers of peptide therapeutics.
  • They wanted to showcase their highly technical approach through imagery and design elements.
  • MBX wanted to be know for their targeted, precision medicines.
Style Tile

To provide a look/feel for the proposed website, a style tile was produced as a pulse check. Brand colors and logo were provided by MBX, but wanted to get sign off on heirarchy and other created elements that conveyed their precision medicine.

UI Design

The challenge of designing a website for MBX Biosciences was to create a site that was both engaging and informative. We worked with the team at MBX Biosciences who were very involved in the process of creating their own website. We went through many iterations until we reached our final design: an elegant and clean website design that creates an adventurous but professional tone.

UI Features

Setting themselves apart from other clinical stage companies, MBX wanted a fresh, innovative site. In order to make the most impact, we concepted and delivered header videos created in Premier.

These videos focused on natural scenes and patient photography, which communicated the natural origin of the peptide zooming and focusing on the patient with their precision medicine.

Based on client feedback, MBX wanted to make sure science imagery directly related to their equipment and scientific technique. High performance liquid chromotography and specific machine imagery was provided to help narrow the search.

The original ideas of mountains as design elements seemed to close to competitors in the market. MBX wanted something similar to pharmacokinetics charts. A guilloche pattern was a sleek way to relate back to the science request while communicating high-end percision.

Audience for the site was both patient and investor focused. Patient-focused imagery in natural scenes communicated optimism – that treatments will keep disease under control to enjoy quality of life; and related to the overall nature theme of the website.

To continue with the the precise and targeted approach theme from header videos, geometrical top shot imagery overlaid with ball and stick elements “targeting” the people in each shot.
